Beyond the Binary

The gray area is not gray to me

Rather a vast and shimmering sea

It expands on for miles

Through tribulations and trials

As far as the eye can see


I have traveled these waves before

Every time I left, craving more

To see all I can

Gone from the land

Escaping far away from the shore


For the shore has many a’ rule

Determined to be treacherous and cruel

To shove me inside

And force me to hide

And so I crave that fierce whirlpool


I crave the freedom of the open ocean

The liberation from waves in motion

To let me be free

Beyond the binary

With heart full of resilient devotion
